It is urgent and very important that each of you whose athletes have qualified a place or places for their National Olympic Committee to immediately communicate with your National Olympic Committee and receive an early commitment from them to include Judo athletes in their delegation that will participate in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games.

Since the place or places belong to the National Olympic Committees, it will be appreciated if the appropriate representatives of the National Olympic Committee directly notifies the Sports Director of their decision by utilizing one of the following methods:

            E-mail:            machetzel@cs.com

            Fax:     915-566-1668

In order to meet the established deadlines of the International Olympic Committee and the International Judo Federation concerning the reallocation of a place or places in the event a National Olympic Committee chooses not to utilize a place or places assigned to it and the notification to the International Judo Federation by the PJU, the response of your National Olympic Committee should be received by the Sports Director no later than the close of business on May 15, 2004.

Your immediate attention to this matter of great importance so that all procedural and notification deadlines are met well in advance will be greatly appreciated and will enable the PJU to utilize all of its allocations.

Hoping to hear from your National Olympic Committee by the deadline of May 15, 2004,

Frank P. Fullerton
